Cambashi Updates Online Manufacturing Industry Training Program

Cambashi-ItM: Release 6 available now

8/4/2010

Cambashi, an independent IT industry research, training and marketing firm, has issued Release 6.0 of its suite of self-paced, online, industry education courses, Cambashi Introduction to Manufacturing (ItM).

The eleven vertical industry courses have been updated with market, company and technology news from the last twelve months, together with updates reflecting the impact of the 2009/10 economic downturn and partial recovery. All courses now have access to a common and extensive glossary of manufacturing terminology.

“While the fundamentals remain the same, those in customer-facing roles will find a new reality in many industries this year,” states Training Practice leader Edwin Ecob. “The updated courseware provides a foundation for sales, consulting, and service personnel to be sensitive to the industry and its current issues. Those who learn can communicate more effectively and credibly with their prospects and customers, leading to more likelihood they can identify and capitalize on opportunities during the recovery.”

The introductory course, Cambashi ItM: Manufacturing Fundamentals introduces basic manufacturing concepts, processes, and terminology and is intended for people new to the industry. In addition to manufacturing terminology, learners gain an understanding of types and methods of manufacturing, business processes, operational activities, and organisational models.

Following on from this, there are eleven vertical industry courses: Aerospace, Automotive, Chemicals, Consumer Packaged Goods, Electronics, Industrial equipment, Logistics Providers, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, and Utilities. These courses explain organisational issues and supply chain structure. They also cover typical business trends and issues and examine what initiatives companies are taking to address these. Each vertical industry course has a specific 2010 Update section highlighting events over the last year.
